Before Assembled, around 80-90% of Assembled’s customers were using spreadsheets and other hacked together processes to manage their customer support workforces. This results in poorer staff allocations, worse experiences for staff and managers, and worse experiences for customers. Assembled is building a rich product to modernize workforce management.

The market size is large. There are a few $5-10b public companies offering workforce management to large and old enterprises, and Assembled is taking the next generation approach to the space.

The team is focusing on growing rapidly in 2022. As of the beginning of 2022, the product, design and engineering team was around 20, and it’ll be around 50 by the middle of 2022. It’s a great time to join.

A big theme when talking to the Assembled team is culture and thoughtfulness. The team is deliberate about making decisions and documenting how they make decisions in a way that few companies are. There’s a thoughtful approach to finding cultural champions. The team is high empathy, collaborative, and user focused.

If you join a company, my general advice is to join a company on a breakout trajectory.
